What we’re looking for

We are currently looking for a UK Payroll Assistant to join our UK based Global Payroll Team. The role will report into our Global Payroll Manager and will sit within a core team of five. The UK Payroll Assistant will be focused on processing the UK payroll, end-to-end and supporting the rest of the team as required (approx. 600 headcount).

We currently operate payrolls in the UK, Australia, South Africa, Dubai, China, Netherlands, Germany, India, Spain, Latvia, Ukraine, South Korea, Indonesia and the United States, with additional jurisdictions in the pipeline.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator, diligent, pro-active and have a flexible approach to managing their workload. They will need to be process oriented and have a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the HR and Finance teams, to collate and verify monthly payroll updates for processing;
  • Perform the full range of payroll duties, uploading / inputting monthly payroll changes into Cintra;
  • Process tax code changes and submit Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to the HMRC as required;
  • Process statutory payments – SSP, SMP, ShPP, SPP, SAP, PAYE and National Insurance etc.;
  • Check the accuracy of monthly payroll data before forwarding for review by the International Payroll Supervisor, before sign off by the Global Payroll Manager;
  • Provide first line support for payroll queries relating to  salary, benefits, taxation or social security;
  • Assist with administering, reporting and resolving queries related to monthly and annual local payroll tax obligations;
  • Process End of Year reconciliations including end of year RTI submissions and issue P60s;
  • Follow and help develop our payroll processes;
  • Manage the Payroll email inbox, allocating and resolving any issues; and
  • Providing day to day support to the London Payroll Team.

Skills and Experience

  • At least 1-2 years’ of experience working in a busy UK payroll function, with payroll software experience (required);
  • Experience of working with Cintra and ADP would be advantageous;
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
  • Strong time management skills with a flexible approach to managing workload and meeting varying deadlines;
  • A strong team player who is willing to actively work across the team, adopting a can-do and flexible attitude;
  • Payroll reconciliation skills desirable; and
  • Ability to process manual calculations.
