What we’re looking for

 

We require a capable accountant to support our Finance team in handling European finance responsibilities. You will swiftly develop an understanding of the business operations to take responsibility for your tasks as well as providing support to the wider Finance team. Due to the continued growth of the business, we are looking for a passionate, dynamic, and ambitious accountant with an innovative approach to join our Finance team at Argus.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ownership of the company’s fixed asset register and intangible assets/work in progress accounts.
  • Posting and reconciliation of cost accruals.
  • Variance analysis - Investigation of month end expense variances for the Group’s European entities.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations – Ownership of several subsidiary trial balances.
  • Multi-currency bank reconciliations.
  • Processing of manual and automatic journals in NetSuite ERP system.
  • Expenses platform management and admin. Providing support to the wider business with expense queries.
  • Support the preparation of the year-end group and subsidiary financial statements and statutory audits.
  • Assisting and providing guidance to the Accounts Payable and other Finance teams.
  • Support the Finance team on ad hoc projects.

 

Skills and Experience

 

  • Proven experience of general accounting within a busy, international Finance team.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively with a clear sense of urgency.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • An effective communicator, able to work closely with management and non-finance people.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and performance orientated.
  • Strong IT skills, in particular Excel. Power BI skills an advantage. Experience with ERP systems, ideally with Oracle NetSuite.
  • Part-Qualified or looking to study relevant financial qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
