Network Administrator
Description
- Network Monitoring and Management:
- Work with internal customers to find problems and troubleshoot networks.
- Work with internal customers to optimize and maintain the corporate networks.
- Monitor, Manage, and Maintain our corporate office networks, both wired and wireless.
- Work with vendors to plan and implement the wired infrastructure.
- Windows Servers:
- Administrate a small set of Windows Servers.
- Continuously patch and maintain the servers to the standard set by our Security team.
- Provide Patch reports on a monthly schedule to ensure compliance with the standard set by our Security Team.
- Use the monitoring system to ensure a high degree of performance from the servers. Suggest cost-effective upgrades when necessary
- Use of our automation tools to keep operations running smoothly.
- Other Hardware:
- Ensure that network-connected devices are tracked in our Inventory system and added to our Network Monitoring software.
- Other:
- Ensure the organization is informed of maintenance windows and network outages.
- Develop and implement plans for upgrades that include clear documentation, detailed plans for implementation, and good communication to the stakeholders.
- Occasional training for junior staff.
- Other adjacent duties as they come up.
- Strong network switching and routing skills.
- 1 year managing a Wireless Network with Cisco equipment.
- Familiarity with small Windows networks.
- Experience with Active Directory.
- Experience with Network sniffing tools.
- Great communication skills.
- Ability to be Onsite in our Santa Barbara office or our Dallas office 5 days a week.
- Occasional weekend and after-hours work.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- 3 years managing a large multi-Vlan office with Cisco equipment.
- 1 year managing a Wireless Network with Cisco equipment.
- Experience with setting up site-to-site VPNs.
- Experience setting up end-user VPNs.
- 1 year managing a small Windows Network.
- Ability to travel as needed to remote facilities.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Strong Multitasking skills.
- Nice to have: Python, Powershell, or Bash scripting.
- Nice to have: Palo Alto Firewall experience.
- Strong Plus: CCNA or better Cisco Certification.
