Senior Manager, Supply Chain Systems

Position Summary:

The Senior Manager, Supply Chain Systems will be responsible for partnering with internal partners and external vendors to design and implement an inventory management strategy across 4 ongoing Clinical Programs. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Consult with internal partners and external vendors to design and implement an inventory management strategy across 4 ongoing Clinical Programs
  • Lead efforts to engage, contract and manage technology vendors in the IRT / MRP space
  • Tactically support Clinical Supply team with IRT specification review, supply parameter strategy, user acceptance testing, and enhancement requests.
  • Establish Service Agreement and KPIs to maintain a high service level with contracted partners
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and supporting documentation.
  • Create and support process improvement projects.
  • Design a strategy for evolving master data from clinical to commercial (including serialization)
  • Act as cross functional representative for other data analytics and systems initiatives within Apellis

Education, Registration & Certification:

  • The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in life sciences /engineering or relevant work experience.
  • Passion for learning, creating, relating, communicating, and leading


  • 8-10 years of progressive experience in biopharma supply planning

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of clinical supply, clinical drug development, and cold chain logistics
  • Experience in vendor relationship management and governance.
  • Understanding of global regulatory compliance (GMP, GCP, and GDP)
  • Strong understanding of Clinical Supply Systems (IRT and Inventory Management), familiar with Annex 11 and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing and supporting new processes in a dynamic environment
  • CMC / Manufacturing knowledge a plus but not required
