Position Summary:

We are looking for a talented and energetic Business Intelligence Director. This person will play a key role in in the launch planning and commercialization of APL-2 in Ophthalmology, specifically in Geographic Atrophy, a prevalent disease with a high unmet need and no currently approved therapies. This will be in addition to providing strategic and operational support for other future molecules in the early development phase.

The successful candidate will lead efforts in new product planning, business intelligence and commercial assessments as well as supporting commercial inputs into financial planning and business development. The Director of Business Intelligence will be accountable for generating actionable, integrated market insights drawing upon primary market research, secondary data analysis, competitive intelligence and forecasting deliverables to provide the organization with strategic assessments and comprehensive insights from key customer and stakeholder groups toward current and future treatment approaches for complement-medicated diseases.

The ideal candidate should have experience working in a business intelligence or commercial analytics position within a biotech or pharmaceutical Commercial group. The role will report to the Head of Global Business Intelligence and will collaborate closely with the C-suite and other members of senior leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with senior leadership to develop and execute the global strategic insights for APL-2 and future assets with an emphasis on Geographic Atrophy and Nephrology
  • Develop business and competitive intelligence capabilities and materials for senior management
  • Partner with other functions to provide key insights and data to help the organization make informed decisions for key business questions and strategy development
  • Generate actionable, integrated market insights drawing upon primary market research, secondary data analysis, competitive intelligence and forecasting deliverables to provide the organization with comprehensive insights from key customer and stakeholder groups toward current and future treatment approaches for complement-medicated diseases
  • Build commercial assessments and forecasts for key programs to support portfolio decisions and input into TPPs for key programs.
  • Works with Finance & Operations to establish financial planning scenarios for management decisions

Education:

  • BS/BA in Business and/or Science
  • MBA or other advanced degree
Required Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in a business intelligence, commercial planning role at pharma or biotech company
  • Ability to interface and build strong relationships with internal (senior leadership, clinical development, research and commercial) and external companies

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
