Position Summary:

Apellis Pharmaceuticals is currently seeking a talented and dynamic co-op to join our Corporate Communications team located in Waltham, MA. The ideal candidate will be part of a high-profile team focused on connecting Apellis’ growing global employee base by writing relevant and compelling content for Apellis’ intranet. The Corporate Communications co-op will collaborate with the Director of Corporate Communications to research, write and edit news stories and other content for Apellis’ social media channels and other communications tools. This role is an exciting opportunity to help drive corporate story-telling through strategic communications and business solutions that help achieve organizational and global objectives.

This co-op runs from July 2019 until December 2019

General responsibilities

  • Write, edit and develop messaging and content for external and internal audiences
  • Maintain and update company intranet, including Corporate Communications page and company calendar
  • Help coordinate logistics and materials for monthly Apellis town hall meetings
  • Help with the planning of internal and external events
  • Support other Communications projects as needed

Preferred Experience/Background

  • Enrolled in a degree program leading to a bachelor’s degree in communications or a related field
  • Minimum of two to three years of University-level study in Communications
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus
  • GPA: 3.5 or higher
  • Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Adobe Creative Suite Experience a plus

The Co-Op must be able to commute to Waltham office and commit to work at Apellis full time for 40 hours per week. This is a paid position.
