APCO Worldwide, a global public affairs and strategic communication consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Director to join our Heath team. We are open to all office locations.

Responsibilities

  • Counsels and manages the relationships for health care clients, including pharmaceutical, insurance, lifesciences and biotech sectors
  • Collaborates with senior client staff and leadership across region
  • Builds credibility with clients by offering knowledgeable observations, insights and strategic thinking regarding communications and public affairs activities, informed by prior experience and deep knowledge of the sector
  • Guides internal teams in the development of client strategy and planning
  • Actively engages in team member development; acts as a leader and mentor to team members
  • Manages accounts of all scales, providing strategic and operational direction
  • Actively networks to identify new business prospects
  • Demonstrates performance in growing clients organically and actively pursues new opportunities with prospects, including leading business development activities
  • Maintains a strong industry network and is viewed as a thought leader in the market
  • Supports annual business planning efforts

Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of experience in health communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Deep understanding of health care communication industry issues
  • Track record of successful communications or public affairs campaign development, preferably at a communications agency
  • Exceptional presentation, writing, and analytical skills including the ability to write strategically and creatively under tight deadlines
