APCO Worldwide, a global communications agency, is looking for an in-house junior graphic designer to support the Global Corporate Marketing, HR and Learning and Development teams. In this role, you will be maintaining, utilizing, and evolving our brand while working with teammates across the globe.    

While you’ll be part of the Corporate Marketing team, you’ll get to know APCO’s Studio team, which is comprised of designers, editors and creative directors, who work alongside our digital, research, paid and account teams to meet our clients’ strategic needs. And though you will work exclusively on APCO-branded projects, the Studio team will help nurture your creative development.

You’re an innately curious, organized, disciplined, and creative communicator with a passion for brand systems. You possess both technical expertise and the ability to work with many personalities. You can examine details pixel by pixel but also understand the global impact of our business. Because problem-solving is your passion, you’re pragmatic, resourceful, committed, and collaborative.

Your primary craft is design but understanding that a brand is experienced through various channels, you have the ability and/or the drive to pick up a camera, edit footage, or create an award-winning holiday card sent out to each and every client.

Your responsibilities

  • Create visually compelling materials that adhere to our brand guidelines, including:
    • Marketing materials in multiple languages (brochures, one pagers, etc.)
    • Event materials
    • Presentation and document templates (Word, Powerpoint, readymag, etc.)
    • Proposal and presentation designs that help market our teams and generate new business
    • Internal learning and development/training materials
    • Digital newsletters and email campaigns (basic understanding of HTML)
    • Interactive holiday cards
    • Print and digital advertisements
    • Award submissions and supporting materials
    • Social media graphics
    • Branded reports
    • Photo editing and graphics for web
    • Sub-brand identities and materials for corporate offerings
    • Internal videos, training videos and thought leadership videos
    • Simple motion graphics
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Brand Positioning and how it affects visual identity systems
  • Update our corporate website and/or create new assets for it
  • Provide feedback and strategically advise on the implementation of our brand
  • Partner with the global marketing & communication assistant to manage vendor relationships
  • Support the needs of APCO’s offices and teams across time zones
  • Manage projects from start to finish
  • Organize and meticulously manage brand assets (project files, photography, footage, stock, etc.)
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of Employer Brand and how to support through our creative

Your qualifications

  • BA or BFA in Graphic Design, and/or a strong portfolio showcasing your creative thinking process as well as visually compelling and emotionally engaging design work
  • 1-2 years of design experience (ideally as an in-house designer for a large brand or agency)
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects) and Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint)
  • Basic video editing and motion graphic skills
  • Videography/photography skills
  • Ability to present work and articulate design rationale
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Supreme attention to detail
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Keen ability to take constructive criticism and incorporate feedback to improve designs
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude to pursue atypical ideas that inspire action
