Aparium Hotel Group is looking for Room Attendants to provide excellent guest service in Housekeeping at the Pontchartrain Hotel.

This position will focus on mini bar attendant duties for the first part of the shift and then transition to housekeeping duties once mini bar duties are complete. 

MINI BAR ATTENDANT JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Adhere and follow Service Guidelines Responsible for stocking all guest room private bars and maintaining private bar inventory
  • Participate in bi-weekly inventory of all products in the storage areas and guest rooms
  • Keep track of all sales inventories by product to accurately order more products
  • Keep track of product expiration dates to ensure the highest quality
  • Responsible for tracking occupied rooms and accurately charging guests for products used
  • Assist in other food and beverage departments when needed
  • Ascertain guest’s satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise in a calm and professional manner, informing a manager when appropriate
  • Ensure to report any engineering/housekeeping work orders
  • Greet each guest in a prompt, courteous, gracious manner providing eye contact and a smile
  • Recognize regular guests and use names when known in a natural manner
  • Keep the working area clean and tidy at all times
  • Make the guest feel comfortable and at ease in his/her room at all times and avoid being obtrusive
  • Handle “Do Not Disturb” rooms as per protocol
  • Respect the confidentiality of all guests
  • Perform monthly inventories of all china, glass, silver, linen, Private Bar items, etc.
  • Detail orientated

HOUSEKEEPING JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Service public areas both inside and outside the building
  • While cleaning guest rooms, ensure cleanliness standards are met
  • Remove dirty towels and sheets from the guest room and replaces them with clean ones from the linen closet
  • Clean, dust and sanitize all areas of the guest room
  • Make bed, vacuum carpet and clean tile area in guest room
  • Take room service requests including turndown and stay over service
  • Keep all guest corridors neat, vacuumed and dusted.  Make sure mirrors, furniture, floors, ashtrays, elevator landing stairwells and linen storage rooms are clean.  Remove all trash from areas.
  • Wash and dry all linens. Sort linen for washing.  Move racks of clean linen to guest room floors.  Stock linen storage room.  Sort clean linen.
  • Deep clean floors of lobby, elevators, public areas, guest rooms, locker rooms, guest corridors, offices, event space, spa and fitness club and other service areas.
  • Keep all work areas clean, organized and stocked

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Must have a high school education or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a hotel services environment

PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Continuous standing 100% of the shift
  • Inside 100% of the shift
  • Lifting/pushing/pulling/carrying required up to 100 lbs. or more.  Carts may be pulled up to 75 feet.
  • Bending/kneeling required 70% of shift
  • Mobile position required 100% of the time
  • May work in extreme conditions at times with temperatures to vary between 50 F and 90 F
