The Full Time Athletic Trainer (Temporary) will provide preventative services, first aid care, injury evaluation, short-term injury rehabilitation and physician referral guidance for our students.
 
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist with injury consultation, management and physician referral for students currently enrolled at AMDA Los Angeles
  • Perform evaluation and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal injuries
  • Provide injury prevention consultation and education
  • Provide temporary movements modifications to students with injuries and communicate these modifications to faculty and pertinent staff on campus
  • Apply first aid care
  • Promote welcoming atmosphere and quality customer service for students
  • Maintain professionalism and uphold confidentiality of student health information
  • Maintain accurate and detailed record keeping
  • Communicate with outside health care professionals as needed
  • Assist with interdepartmental referrals for students in need
  • Work collaboratively with the AMDA Production staff to provide injury prevention support to students cast in AMDA Productions
  • Work in collaboration with the Student Care Team to support students in need
  • Assist with Athletic Performance Studio coverage as determined by supervisor
  • Assist with the coordination and implementation of educational workshops, open fitness, and presentations as needed
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of the AMDA Center for Health & Performance
  • Maintain communication with supervisor and partnering departments
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field from a CAATE Accredited Athletic Training Education Program (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Board of Certification (BOC) credential required
  • Minimum one year of professional experience (dance or performing arts setting preferred)
  • Strong clinical skills including manual therapy techniques, postural assessment and corrective exercise prescription (previous experience in Pilates a plus)
  • Familiarity with movement screening is a plus
  • Certified in CPR and First Aid
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with a diverse population
  • Ability to handle multifaceted tasks
  • Great attention to detail
 
Position Information:
  • This is a temporary position for the approximate dates of May 19, 2025 – November 14, 2025. These dates are subject to change based on department needs.
  • The regular schedule for this role is Monday – Friday 9:30am – 6:30pm PT with a one-hour lunch each day. This is subject to change based on department needs.
  • The pay range for this position is $32.00/hour - $35.00/hour.
  • This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check.
  • This is a fully in-person position.
