POSITION SUMMARY 

The Warehouse Utility Clerk is responsible for picking the correct inventory, packing orders  accurately following specified guidelines, assisting production, and receiving as directed by the Shipping & Receiving supervisor. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.  

  • Pull accurate inventory for shipping 
  • Palletize all outbound freight 
  • Utilize appropriate materials for each order 
  • Maintain efficient product organization by following policies and procedures Assist in the counting of inventory levels at month end 
  • Responsible for keeping a clean and operational work atmosphere 
  • Tag product with proper part numbers and put product away 
  • Maintain adequate inventories of warehouse and shipping supplies 
  • Ensure that all out going product is packed according to department policy and procedure 
  • Ensure that all product and packaging exiting the warehouse has a new and clean professional appearance 
  • Repackage product properly to meet end user expectations  
  • Adhere to weight and height requirements of pallet loads 
  • Review product for accuracy 
  • Adheres to Quality Standards as outlined by Supervisor 
  • Participates actively in department team and staff meetings 
  • Reports to work for scheduled shift 
  • Understands and adheres to organizational and department policy and procedures 
  • Train other staff as needed 
  • Assist in other departments as needed 
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs  

POSITION REQUIREMENTS 

Education 

  • High School Diploma/GED 

Work Experience  

  • 5+ years related work experience, warehouse, shipping, and or receiving  
  • Previous inventory experience  
  • At least one year of forklift experience 
  • At least one year of experience working with freight companies, USPS, UPS WorldShip and FEDEX Ship Manager 

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities  

  • Excellent organizational and proven verbal and written communications skills 
  • Must be organized, a self-starter with the ability to work independently 
  • Independent work style, ability to plan and execute with little direction, creative problem-solving skills and initiative 
  • Comfortable collaborating with others, thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Basic computer literacy 
  • Must be able to use a pallet jack 
  • Perform tasks accurately and efficiently, free from error 
  • Perform all tasks according to department procedure 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents  
  • Performs tasks consistently at an acceptable rate as outlined by department supervisor 
  • Organizes tasks efficiently, maintains focus and stays productive 
  • Achieves established goals and expected results for the department  

Licenses & Certifications  

  • Valid driver’s license  

Travel Requirements  

  • Up to <5%.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and ability to touch and handle tools and/or controls 
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl 
  • Ability to lift up to 90 pounds 
  • Noise level is typically moderate 
  • May occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock 
  • May occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration. In these circumstances, the employee will be required to comply with the prevailing safety training in place according to the individual customer requirements
