Vermeer All Roads has a great opportunity for an experienced Vacuum Excavation Truck Sales Representative to join our growing team in Ashland, VA. The Vac Sales Rep covers all of Virginia has a CDL A license and is responsible for promoting and selling Vermeer heavy duty vacuum trucks. They will recognize customer needs, deliver appropriate solutions, negotiate terms of sale, and resolve any issues for the customer. This role must follow-up on internally and externally sourced leads, develop a customer network and maintain a customer information database with periodic reviews. This position requires daily travel. We will provide a company vehicle, credit & gas cards. This is a full time, benefits eligible salary plus commission role.

  1. Schedule appointments and visit existing customers to review product needs and determine other opportunities in the commercial market.
  2. Promote and demonstrate the product line including (but not limited to) Truck Vacs, VXT8/300 and VXT600-11 
  3. Identify and qualify potential clients by telephone and premise visits to explore new markets. Document information into Salesforce.
  4. Assist with internal training sessions
  5. Be familiar with the latest industry trends and technical advancements and successfully apply them in daily activities.
  6. Provide information from the field as it relates to competitive product pricing and trends.
  7. Work with management to develop and execute plans to increase sales.
  8. Represent Vermeer All Roads at factory and industry events, trade shows and conferences.
  9. CDL A license 
  10. All other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Ability to lift, carry, and otherwise transport work-related materials that frequently weigh up to 50 lbs and that may occasionally weigh in excess of 80 lbs. Must be able to spend a significant amount of time outdoors in the elements.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays.
Travel
Frequent travel to customer locations within the territory is required. 
Required Education and Experience
  1. High School Diploma or GED required, College degree preferred.
  2. 5 years of sales experience in a related field
  3. Valid CDL A Driver’s License
  4. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  5. Positive, can-do attitude
  6. Must have excellent customer service skills
  7. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently
