 Position Summary:

The Compliance Specialist will develop and maintain policies, programs, procedures, practices and training elements to maintain HSEQ client pre-qualifications and Ainsworth Quality systems. The incumbent will responsible for ensuring that a high level of focus on safety, and quality, is always maintained throughout the company.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain pre-qualification information on sites such as ISNetworld, ContractorCheck, Comply Works, CogniBox, and Avetta ensuring documentation meets client requirements
  • Complete and provide required pre-qualification information for national and large RFQs ensuring it is timely, accurate, and consistent with HSEQ programs.
  • Lead activities related to achieving or maintaining ISO or other certifications
  • Analyze trends; build and implement action plans to improve safety and quality.
  • Ensure program activities are in compliance with applicable government regulations and company safety and quality assurance standards.
  • Ensure all Quality Incidents (QI) are investigated throughout all processes, identify the root cause and put in corrective measures to eliminate reoccurrence.
  • Set up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
  • Provides service to both internal and external stakeholders (employees, management and outside parties of interest)

 

Qualification

  • The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Health and Safety and Environmental field within a Construction environment.
  • A recognized post-secondary education in engineering, safety, or quality-related discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • Knowledge of safety legislation, regulations and codes as well as the assessment of new regulations
  • Working knowledge of provincial/federal safety legislation and compensation legislation
  • Proven experience in quality relating to construction.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with superior interpersonal and organizational skills are required for this opportunity.
  • Previous experience with ISO 9000 standards, CSA HSE standards, and HSE-MS such as ISO 18001.
  • Previous experience working with unionized trades in a similar industry, an asset.
  • Good team facilitation skills.
  • Proficient ability to relay knowledge and training.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
