Position Summary:

Latham’s, an Ainsworth Company, is currently looking for dedicated individuals who are interested in doing a pre-apprenticeship for the unionized mechanical trades (Plumbing/HVAC/Air Conditioning). This role assists with the delivery and pickup of parts and tools and is also responsible for keeping the Latham’s shop clean, organized, and stocked. This is an entry-level job, that is part of a graduate program within Latham’s, that provides first-hand exposure to the mechanical trades and allows successful individuals to move onto their apprenticeships. Hours worked in this position can be applied to the apprenticeship work requirements stipulated by the unions.

Responsibilities

  • Able to pick-up, delivery, and return of parts and materials.
  • Delivery and pick-up of company equipment.
  • Assist with cleaning and organization of warehouse and tool lock-ups.
  • Monitor and replenish consumable items that are kept in shop stock.
  • Receive materials and equipment, including monthly filter order.
  • Assist with minor maintenance around office, as needed (changing lights, etc).
  • Assist with maintenance of company equipment and vehicles, as needed.
  • Lock up and secure warehouse and office each evening.

 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of lower mainland and ability to read GPS.
  • Understands and can meet deadlines.
  • Someone who works well alone and within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand/provide written and verbal instructions.
  • Multitasker who can quickly adapt between tasks.
  • Someone who shows initiative and is reliable.
  • Someone who likes working in a high performance faced paced environment.
  • Works well with subcontractors and customers, representing the company with integrity.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs plus bending and twisting.
