The Senior Corporate Accountant meets AGS internal and external financial reporting requirements and assists the Director of Financial Reporting to manage operational and tactical activities required to achieve and maintain compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in the U.S. (GAAP) and SEC reporting requirements across all business units.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Consolidation
  • Assists in the consolidation of subsidiary financial information into the consolidated results of the company
  • Assists subsidiaries to consistently apply accounting policies and consistently report financial information
  • Assists in the elimination of intercompany profit with foreign subsidiaries
  • Coordinates the reconciliation of intercompany balances between all subsidiaries

 Reporting

  • Executes various aspects of the financial reporting activities of the Company, specifically including internal management reporting and external reporting which is compliant with applicable GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Assists in quarterly earnings release or other financial reporting related disclosures
  • Supports the quarterly reviews and annual audit with external auditor
  • Assists in the preparation of financial information for inclusion in presentations, offering memoranda and prospectuses in connection with capital markets transactions, as necessary
  • Coordinates and prepares financial analysis for purposes of monthly reporting to Senior Management

Internal Controls

  • Documents relevant internal controls over financial reporting for corporate functions, as necessary
  • Directly assists subsidiaries and other departments to document relevant internal controls over financial reporting for their respective functions

Academic or Trade Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • CPA preferred

Work Experience and Skills:

5 years of experience within a public company, multi-location company, or SEC reporting environment or combination of audit experience.  Corporate accounting and consolidation experience preferred.

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and SEC Reporting Requirements, specifically including:
    • Revenue Recognition
    • Business Combinations
    • Disposal Activities, Exit Costs and Restructuring Charges
    • Equity Accounting
    • Equity Based Compensation Accounting,
    • Treasury Accounting (including debt and derivative accounting)
    • Tax Accounting.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and strong presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to operate effectively and efficiently under time pressures and deadlines
