Reporting to the Purchasing/Warehouse Manager, the Inventory Specialist is responsible for a variety of material functions including the accurate stocking, counting, moving and issuing parts and supplies to production and service departments.

Major Accountabilities/ Essential Functions

  • Picks and issues parts for production and field orders
  • Fills production Kanban bins and carts according to designated schedule
  • Stocks parts received from suppliers or internal repair department
  • Moves inventory within warehouse locations
  • Processes transactions in inventory system and maintains related paperwork
  • Processes material returns (RMAs) and ensures parts are sent to suppliers for warrantied and non-warrantied repairs, replacements or credits
  • Performs inventory counts as required, reports inventory discrepancies to supervisor
  • Operates material handling equipment and company vehicles as required
  • Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintenance of assigned aisles to ensure part number, bar code, Kanban cards, bin quantities, and location accuracy
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements 

  • High School or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year related work experience
  • Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center or manufacturing facility preferred
  • Experience receiving, stocking and shipping parts and supplies
  • Experience processing inventory related transactions and paperwork
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and company vehicles as required
  • Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, process maps, procedure manuals.
  • Ability to carry out a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form

Computer/ Technical Skills

  • Experience using general office equipment including personal computer, printer and copy machine
  • Experience using Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Work experience using an inventory, warehouse or manufacturing system such as Oracle, SAP or MS Dynamics preferred
  • Basic math skills

Physical/Additional Requirements

  • Full time / 40 + Hours per week. Must be flexible to work some overtime, including evenings, weekends and Holidays
  • Must be comfortable working in a warehouse environment and be able to spend the majority of the day performing tasks in standing or walking positions. Must be able to lift and move boxes and objects up to 75 pounds in weight. Some repetitive motion using keyboard, mouse, telephone.
