Director of Sales Development and Marketing

adMarketplace is seeking a Director of Sales Development and Marketing to lead our external sales development and marketing initiatives. This individual will play a critical role in developing and communicating our value proposition to top search advertisers and their digital agencies. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of digital advertisers with an emphasis in the search / pay per click / performance advertising market.

In this role, the Director of Sales Development and Marketing will lead our efforts to obtain the attention and interest of decision makers at large search advertising brands. This will consist mainly of client-facing information discovery, messaging content and distribution, as well as managing our hosted events and external event attendance. This role is also responsible for developing a team of Sales Development Reps and Marketing staff through setting a clear understanding of expectations, inspecting results, and delivering regular coaching and feedback on skill development.

In this position, you will help develop our message to top advertisers and help our Sales team take that story to the market.

  • Be the trusted resource of industry knowledge and trends, staying abreast of industry research and data points of all sources in order to leverage this information in general and client-specific sales materials

  • Demonstrate creative, open-minded thinking and approach to developing 360 marketing opportunities to attract advertiser interest

  • Partner with the Sales team on strategy and sponsorships, and provide materials for trade shows and conferences; maintain our brand reputation by coordinating with the internal marketing team

  • Develop and maintain strong active relationships with key client stakeholders at both senior and mid-management levels

  • Understand agency, advertiser, data and vendor landscapes and trends, reporting these to the organization; who are the major players, how do they buy, from whom; what are the forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction?

  • Consult with sales management to create new sales onboarding training course content, and regularly update existing training courses, as needed

  • Work with Account Executives to target specific advertisers and create tailored connect plans

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • 3+ years of experience in online advertising in outbound sales (preferably ad vertical, exchanges, or SEM)

  • Knowledge of the online media business and underlying technology and research.

  • Excellent sales and marketing skills including the ability to create and build relationships. Demonstrated track record of success and established relationships.

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
