Position: RN Intake Director
Reports to: VP Service Center Operations

Job Description/Requirements:

As a RN Intake Director you will:

  • Oversee day-to-day functional processes carried out by assigned Service Center team members to ensure they are performed timely and accurately including training Intake Coordinator on the components of eligibility of home health care.
  • Partner with regional operations and sales leaders to ensure internal processes are performed and ensure internal policies are followed.
  • Work with team members to ensure processes meet regulatory guidelines.
  • Partner with team members and organizational and department leaders to brainstorm on potential areas for clinical and operational innovation to meet customer expectations.
  • Measure performance results of assigned team members to determine strengths, performance gaps, and future needs of the company.
  • Ensure data access internally among local, regional, and executive leaders as appropriate to assist in reviewing performance and in making business decisions based on results.
  • Assist the VP of Service Center Operations in the interpretation of internal data trends for the effective use by leadership at all levels.
  • Make recommendations to the VP of Service Center Operations regarding the Service Center business function staffing matrix through maximizing functionality within the EMR software solution.
  • Periodically review the recommended staffing matrix and make recommendations for changes to the staffing matrix.
  • Make recommendations to the market development, operations, finance, and clinical teams on new functionality within the EMR platforms and how it can be used to gain efficiencies in day-to-day operations.
  • Continually work to identify business functions that can be successfully performed at the Service Center in a cost-effective, high-quality manner.
  • Work with internal team members to maximize the use of the EMR platform(s) to ensure critical data elements are captured in the EMR for payors and/or internal department leaders who have special requests.
  • Serve as company liaison with vendors to communicate the needs of the organization regarding product functionality, concerns, purchasing of new software, etc.
  • Identify the Medicare components of eligibility and Medicare conditions of participation for Home Health.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, caregivers and referral sources.
  • Maintain effective communication with field and office staff.
  • Make sure written communications are clear and concise.
  • Comply with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies and procedures including but not limited to those within the Compliance Process, Code of Conduct, and HIPAA requirements.

Requirements of Qualified Candidates:

  • 7 – 10 years of experience in managing multiple employees and/or processes, required
  • RN license required
  • Call Center experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of Medicare home health experience
  • Minimum 3 years of direct operational responsibility for multi-site operations preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of home care operations experience—Home Health, Hospice, Personal Care, etc.—preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of criteria that makes a patient eligible for home health services under all payors.
  • Knowledge and use of electronic medical records preferred
  • Strong ability to direct teams, make broad based decisions, and secure dedicated resources
