Job Details
We are looking for a results-driven, self-motivated Technical Writer to complement our Absolute Secure Endpoint documentation team. The Technical Writer develops, maintains, and publishes information products, such as console help, release notes, API documentation, and partner integration guides.  A Senior Technical Writer and a Localization Manager will mentor the individual in this role.
Responsibilities:
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining high-quality user documentation for our SaaS products and Persistence platform
  • Working closely with subject matter experts from Product Management, Product Development, and Technical Support to turn technical specifications and reports into content for our customers
  • Adhering to the corporate style guide to create user-centric documentation
  • Performing pre-production and post-production work on localized/translated files
  • Maintaining a team and departmental collaboration (or wiki) site using Confluence
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through retrospectives
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience developing technical content for complex enterprise software products in an Agile development environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MadCap Flare
  • Experience editing and publishing API documentation
  • Experience working with HTML and CSS
  • Experience managing source files in Git repositories
  • Experience working with a geographically diverse development organization, cross-functional project teams with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff
  • Excellent research skills with an ability to distill complex information into clear, concise content directed at your target audience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet aggressive deadlines while working with multiple projects/stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a documentation team
Nice to Have:
  • Experience creating documentation in a CI/CD software development environment
  • Experience implementing an AI strategy to optimize the user experience
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, English, Journalism, Communications, or equivalent field, and
  • Certificate in Technical Writing (desired)
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of the following:
  • MadCap Flare, for creating and publishing content
  • Atlassian suite, specifically Confluence and JIRA
  • Content management system, specifically GitLab
  • Git command-line or client, specifically Sourcetree
  • Microsoft 365 apps

The US base pay range for this position is from USD $70,000 - $85,000 annually; the base pay offered is determined by the market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our annual bonus program.
 
The Canada base pay range for this position is from CAD $75,000 -$90,000 annually; the base pay offered is determined by the market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our annual bonus program.
