Senior Product Manager, Lifestyle

Product Management New York, New York

ABOUT Your Role:

When people are looking for a delicious apple recipe or ideas for how to live beautifully in 550 square feet, they find our lifestyle site covering topics across home and food. Our stories and guides help and inspire people to cook, decorate, fix gear, and entertain – fun at home!

As the Senior Product Manager for lifestyle, you know that building a great site requires being able to grock how real people cook or fix things, their goals for doing so, dreaming up a plan to help them achieve those goals, and an ability to explain it all to brainy designers and engineers, plus writers and people who care about numbers, aka “the business.”

ABOUT Your Contributions:

As the Senior Product Manager for Lifestyle, a typical day might look like this:

  • Congratulate the scrum team on the release of an awesome, new feature
  • Watch a person using the site and observe what’s working and what’s not
  • Review your product roadmap with your GMs and CEO
  • Walk an engineer and a designer through some product requirements
  • Teach the Food and Home sales team how to use a new feature
  • Coordinate with fellow Product Managers on the sequence of a cross-team project

You’re good at:

  • Figuring out user problems and pain points
  • Coming up with a big picture, product plan for meeting user needs, selling it, and then working out the details to get the plan over the finish line
  • Communicating and collaborating with a wide range of teams and stakeholders to build great products
  • Collecting, synthesizing & analyzing data
  • Figuring out if a UX/UI works
  • Talking tech (web service architecture, anyone?)
  • Knowing what makes a great lifestyle site because you’ve done this before, e.g. experience at a premium, digital, lifestyle publisher
