Location: Blacksburg, VA

Reporting To: Warren Trice

Department/Customer: ITSF Operations

Clearance Requirement: Active DoD Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one (US Citizenship required)

Who We Need:

An experienced Citrix Administrator to join our Operations team with experience building, configuring, managing, deploying, patching, and upgrading Citrix servers and adjacent environments.

 

 

What You’ll Spend Most of Your Time Doing

  • After your initial onboarding and acclimation to the team, you will be focused on supporting Citrix XenServers , XenApp Servers, Citrix Netscaler appliance, Citrix Access Gateway policies and configurations and Citrix EdgeSight reporting and monitoring services.  
  • You will troubleshoot Citrix issues ranging from hardware to operating systems/applications/permissions/user profile related issues 
  • You will participate in a 24x7 on call rotation. 
  • You will be part of a team that will perform patch and security configuration activities to ensure servers and databases under management are properly secured and up to date. 
  • You will monitor health, performance and operational trends to proactively identify issues before they become incidents. 

 

As Senior Citrix Subject Matter Expert you will:

  • Perform configuration, troubleshooting, and management of various Citrix environments
  • You will build infrastructure, networks, and applications for scalability, resiliency, availability, and recovery.
  • Help migrate systems from a traditional infrastructure deployment model to an infrastructure as code model with automation and monitoring via DevOps.

 

 

Are You:

  • A Citrix administrator with a Bachelors degree and 5+ years experience building and maintaining production environments in large-scale consumer enterprises?
  • Someone with the ability to understand the business and data environments of our current and potential customers and collaborate with a variety of technical and non-technical team members to arrive at comprehensive solutions. 
  • A detail-oriented engineer with proven experience interacting with customers of all levels and able to collaborate with a variety of technical and non-technical teams?
  • Proficient in creating technical documentation & diagrams using Visio or similar?
  • A US Citizen who can obtain and maintain a public trust clearance?
  • It would be also be great if you:
    • Have experience with other Microsoft technologies such as Exchange, SharePoint, or Office 365 
    • Have some experience with MS-SQL databases 
    • Possess a good understating of storage solution concepts 
    • Have dabbled in Backup / Recovery solutions and/or Linux server administration

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area with overhead lighting. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
