PURPOSE OF JOB: 

1901 Group is seeking candidates to design and develop software tools and solutions for our ServiceNow IT services platform. Selected candidates will work with a team of highly skilled software developers responsible for delivering customized solutions for federal and commercial clients. The candidate will develop core functionality for existing systems, create and execute tests, and assist with deployment of new software to the user community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Under the guidance and direction of technical leads, follow software best practices to design and implement well documented, maintainable code
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve software bugs utilizing approved procedures
  • Create and successfully execute unit tests
  • Work prioritized tasks from implementation through test and deployment during each two-week Agile Sprint period
  • Collaborate with other software developers, operations staff, supervisors, and clients
  • Provide team leads with technical and schedule input to ensure development activities proceed as needed

KEY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • 1+ year experience/working knowledge developing and supporting software applications
  • 1+ year experience/working knowledge common programming languages (Java, C#, etc.)
  • 1+ year experience/working knowledge scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Familiarity with application frameworks (AngularJS, Java EE, etc.)
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, JSON, AJAX, XHTML, and SOAP
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

 DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: 

  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum development methodologies and processes
  • Familiarity with design and development of web services
  • Familiarity with relational databases, database design, and data modeling

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area with overhead lighting. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
