PURPOSE OF JOB: 

To be an essential member of a team focused on the design, installation, management and day to day operation of enterprise networks. This individual will own network and systems incidents from onset to resolution, providing the solution and documenting the event. This individual will also be involved in operational improvement projects in all areas of the network.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and assist with the development of solutions
  • Perform incident analysis to determine possible cause and potential fix
  • Timely implementation of fix actions
  • Asset Inventory
  • Monitor the health and trends of the network to proactively identify issues before events occur
  • Ensure all systems and infrastructure are running optimally and with high availability and quality
  • Provide hands on operations support, maintenance support, and project support
  • Support end user and system owner requests for configuration change within the operational network
  • Perform patch and security configuration activities
  • Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance activities
  • Provide training to teammates and personnel from other support departments

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Networking and IP management
    • All Cisco Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking technologies
    • F5 Big IP
    • Palo Alto Firewalls
    • SolarWinds
    • Aruba Wireless

DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM)
  • Cisco Unity Connection (CUC)
  • Cisco Jabber
  • Network cable termination and troubleshooting
  • Aruba ClearPass

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent experience in a related field.

3 to 5 years network management and troubleshooting experience

 

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/TRAINING:

Required, one or more of the following: CCNA, PCNSA, F5 Certified Technical Specialist

Desired: CCNP, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT STATEMENT: 

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and rack equipment into place. Must be able to physically run cables across rooms and racks in a data center environment.
