What You’ll Spend Most of Your Time Doing

  • First 90-Days
    • Complete internal training and support 1901 Group infrastructure operations
    • Enter clearance process for key customers and support structures
  • First 6-Months
    • Engage with customer environments as clearances come through
    • Mature capabilities using team toolsets and processes
  • At the end of your first year with 1901
    • Develop strong operational picture of supported environments
    • Integrate into team tasking and establish your contributions
    • Assess future training and clearances to grow in your career

 

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Design, implementation and administration of Windows 2008r2/2012r2/2016, MS-Azure, Microsoft Exchange, and Active Directory.
  • Implement, install and recommend technologies including database, systems management, server virtualization, network storage and security.
  • Maintain strong understanding of Client/Server Architecture and how to securely deploy internally and externally.
  • Evaluate and architect network, server and storage architecture plans.
  • Produce technical writing for both system integration and transition to operations teams.
  • Work in hybrid multi-location operations team administering existing production network
  • Build, configure and maintain Windows servers (2008R2, 2012, and later) on physical and virtual hosts.
  • Perform configuration, troubleshooting, and management of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print.
  • Build and deploy Group Policy Objects to enforce desired enterprise behavior.
  • Perform patch and security configuration activities to ensure servers and databases under management are properly secured and up to date.
  • Monitor health, performance and operational trends to proactively identify issues before they become incidents.
  • Communicate well with Executives, Managers, Peers and Customers.
  • Support tickets and manage incidents, service requests, and problems through their full life-cycle.
  • Troubleshoot end user incidents in depth to resolution and identify root cause.
  • Perform incident analysis to determine possible cause and potential fix.
  • Document status updates and communicate to necessary parties.
  • Document troubleshooting steps and knowledge articles for Shared Desk and Help Desk teams.

 

 

 

Are You:

  • Bringing 10+ years of experience in Windows System Administration, able to offer conceptual knowledge as well as practical application?
  • Experienced in design, implementation and administration Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, and Active Directory and Azure AD?
  • Knowledgable in basic networking (Firewalls, Cisco Routers/Switches0, protocols, VPN) and storage (SAN, NAS, Backup)?
  • Eager for new opportunity and willing to put in the time and effort take advantage of it?
  • Self-motivated in pursuing new issues and driving them to resolution?
  • Familiar with ticketing systems and the value of good documentation?
  • Competent in essential administration concepts around Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server 2008R2, 2012, and later?
  • Experienced in Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, or Office 365?
  • Knowledgable in scripting such as Powershell?
  • Certified in Microsoft technologies?
  • A US Citizen who can obtain a public trust clearance?

  • Occasional travel to customer sites, including overnight travel
  • Flexible schedule to support necessary off-hours maintenance and upgrades

  • Ability to use necessary equipment to execute primary job functions (long term computer use, etc.)
  • Assessing risk of specific issues and escalating to management for support in a timely manner.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation. Individual’s primary workstation is located in an office area with overhead lighting. The noise level in this environment is low to moderate. Regularly required to sit for extended periods up to 80% of time; frequently required to move about to access file cabinets and use office equipment such as PC, copier, fax, telephone, cell phone, etc. Occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 10 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include use of computer monitor screens up to 80% of time.
